A reminder of its availability as a single CD.
Will the Amazon algorithm put the price up, I wonder.
Not a problem for me, as it's a version I've already got.

I will be adding the chosen version to my library on this occasion.

The Hickox hadn't really drawn me in.

Still think the Previn pretty special and the recently posted BBCSO/Ades an essential YouTube supplement.

It was available quite cheaply on Amazon coupled with a thrilling account of In the South from two months before his death - amazingly he had only recently learnt it after being pressed by Michael Kennedy to do so .

I like both the market leaders in the Derby but it is a very open race this year . I quite like Benbati ew at 28-1

Pleased to say that a fellow boarder has offered me a surplus copy of the NPO/Britten recording which I keenly look forward to receiving.

Eminent for the Derby. Had it in mind for weeks.

You've got one million CDs, can't believe you didn't have that one already

                    Yes, a great piece.
Absolutrly, Pulcie! I see next weeks one will be a chatty one. A pity.

I couldn't hear all of the BaL today, who won?

Alpie must be busy, as the winner has not been made bold yet: NPO/Britten, available singly as pointed out previously or in Decca sets.

Btw, you can always check out the winner on the Record Review web site: today's page is here:

Interesting that the Hickox, also recommended, features a chorus.
Does nobody check what gets put up? (Obviously not!)

Many thanks Pulcie. Saved me some dosh today. I have Handley's, Hickox, Previn's and the compoer's own with the NPO.

Rare that Moore gets it wrong . I know of a very good judge who is keen on Eminent but no Guineas sixth has won since St Paddy in 1960 ! And he was notoriously not fit at Newmarket .

Now don't be picky. The disc insert makes is clear that the Sinfonia da Requiem is for orchestra. It would be a little surprising if the 'fill-ups' on that double SACD set did not feature a chorus.

A couple of choruses, I think, Bryn: the LSO Chorus and the Choristers of St Paul's Cathedral.

(Cue some pedant saying that a bunch of choristers isn't a chorus.)

Much enjoyed this BAL. I have the final choice, and the BBC MM cover disc BBCSO/Wigglesworth. I'll also listen to the Hickox on Naxos Music Library and the Fedoseyev on Google play music.
