      That’s an amazing bargain!

Sadly, the sound quality is totally unacceptable to me, especially in the sound-world of composers like SG. Also, the temptation is to flit around, and I believe it’s best to concentrate on one work at a time. Although there’s a few things on that set that I don’t have, I’ll not be indulging.

Otherwise, a brilliant introduction and exellent bargain. Well spotted, Bryn.

P.S. teamsaint, I know you like a bargain, why not buy a few and give them out as Xmas presents!?

Until very, very recently, I'd heard more Gubaidulina in the concert hall than on CD but I do have Offertorium (Kremer/BSO/Dutoit) and the short piece, The Rider on the White Horse (RCO/Robertson). I heard Offertorium at the Proms (Kremer/CBSO/Rattle) and also the UK premiere of The Light of the End (LPO/Masur) at which the composer was present in the hall.

I very much enjoyed The Light of the End but unless I've missed it a recording doesn't seem to be available.

        EDIT: I see it's on youTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53J-XH1HF1Y
