Somehow when looking at Record Review Podcasts yesterday this one came up as the first example .

Both fascinating ( the quality of the hour long talk and examples ) Sutherland’s lack of care for the text so striking when singing with Horne - Callas in Casta Diva , the MDM horror show .

And depressing - can you imagine what it would be like now ? A McG drawing endless attention to the age of the Callas recording and surely the technical explanations would have been cut . 30 minutes if were lucky

Maybe not of the calibre of those classic recordings but I'm off to see Norma tonight in Bath Opera's production. Two singers are singing the title role on different nights.
