I don't see the Rachmaninov 1st or 4th piano concertos in the PDF or the RSS. Lots to discuss about either, including multiple revisions of the scores, at least some of which have been recorded in their earlier editions. We have the composer's own recordings for comparison, and modern cycles from Stephen Hough, Daniil Trifonov, Yuja Wang and Leif Ove Andsnes, etc. that can't have been covered before even if the works have been.Last edited by Retune; 26-10-24, 17:52.

We're certainly not going to run short of suggestions for next year's Summer BaLs, given the contributions already in this thread.
Can I remind forumites of our Recordings in Discussion option
which might be a good place to set a hare running if you have a particular favourite of one of the pieces mentioned and you want to see what others think and you can't wait until next summer (not least now that the clocks have changed). That sub-forum might also be ideal, say, for the Bo Holton suggestion.
