I tend to agree and nearly added a “” to my post earlier…
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

        Indeed, as already pointed out.

But it's now a Presto CD.
Stravinsky: The Firebird. Decca: 4144092. Buy Presto CD or download online. Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal, Charles Dutoit

Also available as a download (MP3 and FLAC).

PS: What I meant by my comment was that the BBC site gave no mention of what/which (Pedants' Paradise?) formats it was available in.

          No they are not comparable.

And what about Gergiev? As far as I am aware he has not harassed or assaulted anyone, but I am sure that I would not buy a recording of his now.

Sorry, this is off topic. I won’t post again on this issue.

Am I allowed to listen to, and sing along with, the last UK No. 1 of the 1960s if I manage to convince myself that can't remember who sang it? And what about 'Everyone's Gone To The Moon'?

Please can we keep comments relevant to the music rather than the personalities involved.
                Thanks all.

                  Why would you want to?

But that implies no discussion at all of Eurovision!??

I like to encourage my wife to join in the singalongs at the care home that give her so much pleasure.

Given this, was she an appropriate reviewer for this piece on BAL?

Having said that, I have to say that I was more impressed with Roth/ Les siecles performance and I may check that one for CD availbility.

Thanks Micky. However, I see that it is available from Presto as part of a 2-CD set for less than Amazon's pric3e for the single disc! The Amazon offer seems to be for a Japanese version, which may account for the higher price, and may have Japanese notes which are of no use to me or, I guess, most people in the UK!

Ah right, sorry, I didn't see the Japanese bit! I have the original Actes Sud discs, but the newer HM reincarnation looks like a great bargain. I wonder if the recordings have been remastered?

It was a golden age Micky, I've been playing the 'Rite', also Cornall/Dunkerley and the Petrouchka, also engineered by Dunkerley but produced by Ray Minshull, both terrific!
