My favorite recording is Starker LSO, which I have on LP (Philips pressing of Mercury original). It's a great performance in excellent sound and realistically balanced. It is available from Presto as CD or download. Also in my collection is Rostropovich ONF Bernstein on CD and Rostropovich USSRSSO Rozhdestvensky (in the CD box set Rostropovich - the Russian Years). I like the Starker performance and recording so much that I have not felt the need to seek out any others.

      Welcome aboard, Sunny.
Feel free to introduce yourself on the Welcome thread.
For once it's sunny here in York, too!
      :-)

I hope you find lots to investigate and comment on in the Forum: I see you're about to explore recordings of Don Quixote, too!
