        In the book a career recorded it shows Barbirolli conducted Scheherazade I think 28 times so hardly a work he did not know well . Perhaps Pye weren't interested and by the time he returned to EMI in the 1960s they had quite a few recent Scheherazades on their books - Kempe, Kletzki , Silvestri and Beecham for a start
