But vodka for Scriabin, surely? I have to admit that, having always admired Scriabin, I listened to Ohlsson's recital last Monday and most of what was on offer on CotW and found, not for the first time, that my estimation of and enthusiasm for Scriabin and his work on subsequent revisits has risen several more notches.

I don't mind if I do, Bbm, if you're having one, thank you very much!

        .

Also: it's rather Promethean ... ... so back on thread!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Argerich and Abbado were worthy winners though .

Yes, I believe Abbado's only other Scriabin was for DG: The Poem of Ecstasy with the Boston SO, recently reissued with his excellent Debussy Nocturnes and Ravel, with the same orchestra.

I am surprised that no one mentioned the great performance of this work from last year's Prom 56
