I thought that Gillian Moore was further dissatisfied with the Segerstram version because he allowed his singers such latitude w.r.t pitching Sprechgesang.

Sorry, she did say that. I find it a satisfying recording, however.

A reminder that the BBCSSO performance is being broadcast on Thursday afternoon. I saw it in the concert hall - it was basically a fully-staged performance, just without a proscenium & sets - & very gripping. It will be interesting to see/hear if it is equally gripping on the radio & without the visual drama.
