It's just that it has to be and import. It still costs less than I paid for it in HMV a few years ago, and it was only £8.99 for the double album then. Just search for "Mozart great masses davis" at amazon.co.uk, for instance. If you can't wait for it to arrive from Canada, they also have it in stock for less than £14, and you also get the mp3s thrown in with that option.Don’t cry for me

They just can't help themselves these HIPPies, can they: wait a little while and the veneer of balance quickly wears off.)

But, Alpie - it was JS who gave joint laurels to Davis and Pinnock, deciding on Pinnock only because the Davis wasn't readily available. Aeolie suggested that it should have been "a tie" (which was actually what I think JS would have preferred) to which you replied "Yeah, but Davis isn't HIPP. " If this comment "was not directed at JS", then at whom did you mean to direct it? AMcG?Numquam Satis!

The complexities of plot and subplot of this BaL result seem to be on a par with the recent Line of Duty thriller (or indeed the result of the Grand Prix last weekend). I had the impression that he was going to recommend Davis and would have done so if it had been available as a CD - which it actually is. Why was it beyond the BBC to do the research that would quite easily have proved this? Presto have Pinnock as lone winner and Davis as Highly Recommended, which was surely not quite the way it happened.
(I have the Berlin Karajan on an old cheapo DG Galleria disc and despite shortcomings mentioned today I think one recording will suffice)
