I wonder why this one seems to be a sleeper?

Is it the much-discussed conversation format? Or is it the work itself?

Even if it's Mozart's best completed Mass setting, I find it mostly uninteresting listening and (from the choral point of view) singing. I much prefer the K339 Vespers.

Me too, a very thrilling recording, with the clear trebles of the boy's choir.

And I have always been puzzled why the 'Coronation' setting is 'preferred' over the Missa solemnis in C, K.337, a much more interesting and exhilarating piece to my ears. Is it just because it has an interesting 'title'? K.317 always strikes me as a bit bland. Maybe I've not heard the right version. I'm up for hearing Jeremy Summerly though, he normally calls a dog a dog.

As it's live on the South Bank, anti-BAL-discussion protests would be very possible to make in person to the relevant people, before, after or even during Saturday's broadcast, for those willing to travel...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Are you planning a mass flash mob on the hallowed airwaves of Radio 3!

I would, of I could, Cali! Hmmm you don't hear the Missa Solemnis very often?

What's the betting it's gonna be a period instrument version or HIPP or both...... I want a "big" sounding Mozart, like what they did in the 60s and 70s!

Period instrument stuff seems to have a somewhat watered-down feel to it.

Would that run the risk of the situation described by Richard FG? -

I think Cali's done enough popping up on the South Bank without flashing as well

Returning to the subject the only point to a 'live discussion' (or probably 'live anything else') is the element of risk, that anything could happen. If it turns out to be 'predictable' it loses its point - as far as an audience is concerned.

And by 'anything can happen' and 'risky' I refer to the content not the technology. But we shall see.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

You and I could end up being tied to the same stake by the Nouveau Music Establishment.
