Not surprised he doesn't have the energy to check back a few messages, getting up so early and everything...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Can't say I think of Handel's as "early music". More late baroque, what? Though I feel sure that our Rosbif friend would happily roll out of bed for late baroque.

              Handel is prehistoric for me.

Listened to CD review again and listened to Hogwood excerpts online. Can't make my mind up between Manze and Hogwood.

I'm still baffled as to why the excellent Hogwood version wasn't mentioned, especially as it has come out in a newly remasterised version along with Op.3.
                        That sounds tem[ting, MickyD!!

Put them in alphabetical order and you won't go far wrong - you'll probably also get them better in tune...

I'm dyslexic, so I'll end up with the Karajan!!!

The Hogwood is £9 cheaper too. Think I'm gonna have to sleep on this one.

The Manze is soo exhilarating !

And maybe you get an eels & mash voucher too?
