A wonderful box set indeed, but I must say I find Boult's Brandenberg recordings a real pleasure - fresh and full of energy.

Isn't Amazon supposed to embody the American 'can do' ethic? I'm guessing we'll all get it eventually, though it may take some time. Forgotten Christmas present to self, maybe?

Seems they've adopted the Cornish way and we'll have it Dreckly.

The box is being released a couple of months before her 80th birthday, and twenty years since her retirement from singing. I am, of course, tempted - I shall have to check how much in the box that I've already got.

Tempting indeed. What a sublime voice. I've got the four Schubert discs and Vier letzte Lieder with Karajan, but there's an earlier one with Haitink in there which I don't know at all.

Thanks that is a bargain! I don't normally buy CDs any more but that's worth making an exception for!
