American in Paris
Gershwin's American in Paris orchestral music was on R3 this afternoon. It was a version with Bernstein.
Out of curiosity I went looking for recorded versions at the River people.
I found:
Bernstein
Ormandy
Hickox
James Judd
Previn
Maazel
all with used options for prices under £1 - even down to 1p + £1.26 p&p.
There's even a version with Toscanini, but it costs a bit more.
However what I was initially looking for was a CD of the show with the same name - there are only a few, though lots of Gershwin excerpts with "hits" from the show.
