I'm pretty sure there's an option to split orders into several deliveries, or to send them in as few deliveries as possible.

My Soft Machine box set is 'preparing for dispatch' but the Strauss box is 'not yet despatched'.

The complete HvK remastered edition under £90 at the moment at amazon.

And you don't have to wait till the end of April to get it.

I'm wondering, since I now seem to be on a free trial of Prime due to other purchases, if I dare go and alter the delivery method for that Strauss order ......

          Perhaps not.

While some of us are wondering about whether or not a certain Strauss opera set will actually be sent out, I am listening to music by Michelangelo Rossi which I did not know - from the CD La poesia cromatica from the 50 Great Recordings set, which arrived recently. I was unsure about this box, but actually now it's arrived I think I can recommend it wholeheartedly - certainly at the current price. There's some lovely stuff in there, and it's quite well presented. No background information though, but what can one expect? Perhaps at full price the lack of further information would be considered a drawback.

Odd that Amazon says that the box is often bought with a set of Shostakovich string quartets!

Heck though - it works out at around 67p per CD and most of them are worth having, many of them will be new to some of us. Thanks for this one. Still available.

Too many duplications for me but Chick Corea playing Mozart looks interesting.

That's what I thought earlier on, but I figure you've only got to get 5-10 things you don't know for it to be worthwhile. Maybe you've got almost all the box already.

Yes but that doesn't take into account the sheif space!

                    Mmmm....

You have a point. The box is actually slightly bigger than it needs to be. I find that the boxes are often much more compact than individual CDs.

                    Double stacking?

Soetimes the extra space in the box can be used to store additional discs - either cdrs of downloads or others with their booklets!

Now on to CD 40 of trumpet concertos - which is very good. Some (all) are probably on this similar CD by the same performer - https://www.amazon.de/Italian-Concer.../dp/B000J0ZPQ0

Indeed. In the case[sic] of the Sony Beethoven Masterpieces box there was room enough for the 50 CDs of the EMI alternative, and several booklets too.

                            Here's another (operatic) bone:

I got the Wand 28 CD Great recordings ( but not the booklet) AND the EMI Verdi 35 CD operas set in that Beethoven box.

                              Just.

And then thought better of it !

anyway, with a long weekend ahead, here's more HvK to listen to when the gardening and DIY is finished, at a bargain price.

                              1938/60 , £70.
