Couldn’t get that link to open. I bought this CD in 2010, IIRC. Not listened to it very much, but it’s pretty good music.

Seems odd - I'm listening to the songs again - and the link which appears is definitely the same as the one I posted. I do agree though, that trying to use the link doesn't work. Maybe Qobuz don't maintain their own links well enough.

Technical problem? Maybe - but it is an issue - which I can't figure out right now. If I find a link which works I'll post it.

That very disc, and the Hyperion recording of the Piano Concerto (coupled with the - really quite terrible - Korngold left-hander) were lent* to me by a friend only last month. It's lovely Music: sort-of Delius' Paris composed by a pupil of Strauss, it occurred to me. Really enjoyable.

* - I have returned them both, since.

Jorge Bolet claimed that it was his favourite piano concerto. Hard to believe but there you go. That said, it is an attractive work, but "favourite"?

Ah yes. No I've not knowingly been to Bochum.

In this instance absolutely - there are many works by EWK that I enjoy listening to, but that concerto (IIRC, one of the few of Wittgenstein's commissions that he actually played and approved of!) is an absolute ... ?turkey? (not really apposite - I like turkey, and, indeed, Turkey).

Actually, yes - but I couldn't hear anything written for chains: perhaps the percussionist lost them?

Ah yes. No I've not knowingly been to Bochum.

I do remember driving once to Germany at night, but can't actually now remember whether it was to Dusseldorf (perhaps most likely) or Dortmund. If the latter I would probably have gone through Bochum.
