Sobering fact: Barenboim is probably a bigger draw than Bruckner.

It wouldn't surprise me if Danny B has been a bigger draw than most of the composers whose works he's performed during his entire career.

I know plenty of people who wouldn't bother going to a Beethoven concert: but they'd go to a concert of BARENBOIM conducting Beethoven.

Went through a similar routine. I've been catching up on some good stuff from Hyperion lately eg their French song series. Usually far cheaper from their own site than Amazon. Also Barber and Ives songs, Magnard Symphonies. 10% off if you spend £25.
