Tennstedt Beethoven 6 should do the trick, ferney

My apologies to Petrushka for the wrong attribution and thanks FHG for pointing this out. As regards the 'elusivity' of this disc the original link provided by Petrushka worked perfectly for me. There is also the ASIN number in most links to search on although admittedly that is not apparent in the original link quoted but it is here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00UU0BQW6/

Indeed it should, cloughie; sadly ...

hafod's link via Pet's original post does it - and, interestingly, when I type "Tennstedt, Beethoven 6" in the search facility on that page, it takes me back to the list of the earlier versions I'd found before BUT with the pertinent release included underneath in an alternative link "Results for Tennstedt, Beethoven" with the "6" crossed out!

I've recently had difficulty in finding another disc on Amazon, the recently issued Dvorak 9 by Ancerl and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (the first time it has been issued on CD). It was impossible to find until I entered the record label name. Perhaps the search algorithm that Amazon uses is faulty or perhaps it to steer you away from certain discs/labels (or is that too much of a conspiracy theory?). Anyway I bought from MDT in the end.

No comma straight into the classical box worked immediately

No - they don't want me to buy it! It doesn't even show it with the crossed out "6" underneath, now.

(Perhaps it's a "you can't have your live Pastoral until you've bought the studio version first"?!)

Finally! How bizarre - miss out the symphony name and number and put the conductor's name first!

I drew a blank on trying to search on Amazon -I guess they've not latched on to the Sola Musica label! The recording is available as a download on the BnF label on iTunes for £2.49 including Moldau. Has anyone any experience of downloads from this label?

I was delighted when I saw that the recording was available on the BnF label and downloaded it from Qobuz.

What a disappointment! The sound was very dull indeed and it was in mono.

The link to the disc on Amazon is: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Symphony-Vla...rl+solo+musica, but I ordered it from MDT and it dropped through the letterbox this morning.

It's available from Amazon as a CD. See:

Not easy to find on the UK site but straightforward on amazon.de which furnished the ASIN. The Bibliotheque Nationale de France (BNF) download is, I think, a transcription of the Mono LP so caveat emptor!. If there is a performance which you are dying to hear from their vast archive of such transcriptions, the quality is perfectly acceptable. The new Sola Musica re-release is available as an i-Tunes download as well.

Apologies if this has already been flagged up but for David Oistrakh fans some wonderful performances at a rather cheap price:
