    The limit includes P&P.

    I think the limit id £15.50.

    I have only been caught once on CDs. From USA. Was £19, ended up £26 after duties and admin charges. About 8 years ago.

      The limit is £15.00 and is applicable to purchases from outside the EU.

        Don't know the exact reason why, but my order for the OL box from am.it seems to have been stopped, and hopefully a refund issued. Shame.

          My post from the Amazon Marketplace Sellers thread, 5th Jan, regarding seller dodax:

          I am in the middle of a spat with them at the moment. I ordered a Schnabel box from them on eBay on 26th November and they sent me a CD of 'Rock 'n' Roll Classics'. When told, they said they had no more Schnabels in stock, so would I agree to cancel the transaction. When I went to eBay to do so I found that eBay advised not to cancel until I had a refund, and worse, dodax-uk had said the cancellation was because I had 'ordered the wrong item by mistake or changed my mind after ordering'.

          dodax-uk asked me to return the wrong item, which I did (cheapest post, to Germany, £3.70) on 11th December. I have now at last received the purchase price refund, but have still not received the £3.70, which they claim to have paid on 19th December.

          An eBay complaint is imminent. I'm not that worried about £3.70, but the whole experience has p****d me off somewhat.



          This dispute has rumbled on without any change in the status quo.

          The rumbling has taken the form of two more unanswered emails to dodax, and three email exchanges with eBay, by the last of which they had been persuaded to read what I actually said, instead of what they thought I might be saying.

          Their response is now that because the payment I made to the Post Office to return the wrong item did not go through either eBay or PayPal they cannot (or cannot be bothered) to enforce reimbursement from the vendor. There had, of course, been no option to pay the return by those methods.

          Their advice, therefore, is to keep pestering the vendor and also give them a suitably negative feedback (both of which I have already done).

          So be warned that the costs of returning items to a vendor are not covered by the much vaunted eBay guarantees!

            I, too, am having problems with dodax-uk. I ordered a CD on 31st December that has failed to arrive (my first order in at least 10 years to go wrong). They have replied as follows: "Thank you for your request.

            Your order was dispatched as planned and has not been returned to us as of now, the item may have got lost during the shipment or is still on its way to you.

            We are going to send a request to the delivery service immediately and send a replacement at our expense if the item is still available at one of our suppliers. Please note that this process could probably take a few more days.

            In case the initially sent order arrives, please be so kind as to notify us."

            I fear I'll end up with nothing, and will eventually add further negative feedback to Don's.

              I am having issues with several providers at present including East Coast Trains, Amazon UK and amazon.es. Customer service seems to be just about non existant in some organisations these days. Re the Amazon cases (several) the web site interface is dreadful, and has a nasty habit of closing out issues re any order once "they' claim they'd dealt with a return or a refund. This is a real pain, as it then requires trying to find a contact telephone number, since the web sites make that unduly difficult. Then there's the cost and time spent trying to explain the problems, which may get dealt with - or not - depending on the care and diligence of the agent taking the call.

              The real joke is that on the web site there's a comment:

                My eBay experience is in contrast to that with Amazon. Twice recently I have had potential problems with Amazon vendors (one item incorrect, one never received) and Amazon themselves have given prompt refunds, apparently without immediate reference to the vendor. A prepaid label was printable for the returned item.

                I guess Dave's experience shows that, as in life, it's all pot luck!

                  Similarly, you won't find an email contact address on the eBay site.

                  If you want one, on the basis that receiving reams of gobbledygook that doesn't really answer your question is better than holding on a phone for hours, the trick is to click the 'I am hard of hearing' button, when an email input box will appear.

                  Be warned though that, in my experience, whatever nice formatting of sentences and paragraphs you input, it will all arrive at the destination in one long run-together line of text. This is so difficult to read it's no wonder they can't be bothered to decipher what you are really saying.

                        I have had good experiences with Amazon in the past, with prepaid labels, and collection from home. Things seem to have got worse recently.

                        A recent purchase was an ironing board delivered to a more remote - but still mainland - part of these isles. It was not fit for purpose, as it was very unstable - totally useless. It seems it was delivered by Yodel - though delivery and damage in transit was not an issue. Amazon did not provide a return label, though I did ask via an online chat. There was a seemingly automatic offer of £3.30 for return. I had quotes of between £39 to £49 for collection and return. ParcelForce seemed to be the only possible option because of the item's size. There was inconsistency between the online quotes and phone quotes, and the ParcelForce site is apparently unable to cope with orders from Mac OS X - which is appalling given that it is now pretty mainstream, and browser interfaces are mostly cross platform. It also cannot cope with mobile devices, either iOS or Android.

                        In the end I took it to a local Post Office and sent it by Parcelforce for £16.40, but in the meantime Amazon had seemingly closed the case immediately the item arrived back at Dunfermline, and (maybe) refunded £3.30 - which as I said in a subsequent phone call is pretty much an insult as it took me hours to sort out, and my time is valuable and at consultancy rates I'd be charging £00s. Further, I think Amazon marked the reason for return in such a way as to try to pass respnsibility to me. That was not the case - the item was not ordered in error - it was not fit for purpose, and I therefore returned it in compliance with (a) EU distance selling regulations (b) UK Sales of Goods and Services Act and (c) Amazon's own guarantee.

                        This is on going, and I am making slow progress. I still haven't completed the sign off of this, and I did ask for compensation in addition to the actual costs.

                        Things like this, one of several in recent months almost make one lose the will to live! sadly I still have a few more things like this to sort out - will I make it through the next few months?

                          That's what dodax did to me on eBay. Order Schnabel, get sent Funky Gibbon, and they say I must have ordered it in error or changed my mind on receipt!

                              looks an amazing bargain, lots of quality and a few less common items.was brand new too, and the box is big enough to accomodate the Wand 29 cd set and 33 cds of verdi operas !!
                              If you fancy it, might be worth putting on a wish list and keping an eye for another
