Also tempted. I saw him quite often in the early 70s when many Leipzigers found his Radio Symphony Orchestra concerts more interesting than Masur's with the Gewandhaus. A great proponent of new music who met a sad end in depression and suicide. Appreciation here.

The Requiems's baritone, Siegfried Lorenz, is also not as well known as he maybe should be, having worked mainly in East Germany. I would recommend his Schubert Lieder, many of which I enjoyed first on LP. MusicWeb review
