Duh! I was wrong - the LSO Live Elgar conducted by Colin Davis which was a BaL recommendation was the second symphony. The first, as recommended by the inimitable David Owen Norris on 17th March 2007, was indeed the Dresden performance. Grunts here we come ....
All too imitable, I'd have said
I learn a lot from his BaLs

Reason: semi-colonic irritation
Well worth getting. I have the set on separate CD issues, bought over the years. With the sole exception of Visions de l'amen, these are recordings of concert performances. They date from 1988 to 1991, and are very fine. A bargain indeed at £4.99, even if they are only around 256kbps mp3s in this offer.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before - Boulez doing Schoenberg. might be good for some. 11 CDs for £17.49 currently - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pierre-Boule.../dp/B00AK3X3U6 or perhaps less if you don't want the AutoRip.
They are often very interesting but he then chooses recordings I really don't like much !
His In the South was of course restricted by the fact that the Silvestri was nla and the live Barbirolli on BBC legends had not then been released - two performances that tower over the competition IMO .
Its the free market , @noggo. profit, or be profited from.
Welcome to thatchers/blairs Britain !!
( so did you bag the Mozart set or not?)
Naturally. In order to secure it, I procured said bargain prior to posting of its existence here. I did verify to see if there were others in its wake. It would seem that bargain mastermind Bryn snapped up the last, to Amateur51's chagrin, and perhaps your own. Still, Wednesday evening's Live in Concert features Mozart in toto. Be interesting to hear Sally Matthews wrap her pipes round this one:
