Speaking of historical releases, here's an interesting one whose Ormandy M2 I've never heard..... but would like to

      Full track list provided.

The Konoye M4, while not a library item, is certainly worth hearing. Much of the rest is quite well known.

Classic EMI Strauss 6CD Lieder with Fischer-Dieskau and Moore which I didn't get first time round is being re-issued. Seems odd to see it with the Warner logo.

        Cheaper from the grocer.

I was amazed to discover the 20cd box of Bernard Haitink: the Philips Years on ITunes at 7.99.

The performance of Schubert 9 alone is value for 7.99 !

Alison, have you checked out the 192kbps mp3 stream of Haitink and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Schubert's 9th (from May 4th this year) at http://www.wgbh.org/articles/The-BSO...-Listings-7752 ?

It can take a while and a fair bit of planning to get to hear it at 192kbps, but there is also an on demand 128kbps option (or you could PM me - I might be able to help ).

Thanks Nethers. Can't seem to get the on demand option on the Ipad but will persist by other means.

For those able to access Qobuz and who are not averse to downloads, they are having one of their "promos" where the price of 24 bit Studio Masters is reduced on certain titles (€9.99 or €11.99). Not a great bargain but, when Linn feels able to charge €21.99 for, say, Ivan Fischer's Dvorak Slavonic Dances, then €9.99 doesn't seem too bad. Some great stuff at that price, not least Arcadi Volodos's recent Mompou album (and those Slavonic Dances).

I've been eyeing the Qobuz 24/96 £9.99 'promo' as well. In particular two of the recent Gardner Lutoslawski discs, unfortunately only two are included in the offer.

Must have been a glitch, sadly. Now £49.99.

For those who still buy those CD disc-thingies there's a lot of cheap Chandos, HM etc on the MDT website, but yer gotta be quick - sale ends in a few days.
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

I was sent details of an almost complete Poulenc box set from EMI France for just under £30 from amazon uk - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...email_sim_2_lm Usual metrics - 20 CDs so around £1.50 per disc Seems reasonable value for anyone who wants a lot of Poulenc.
