Anybody know what's on this - is it a must have bargain or a waste of shelf-space - seems to be Arte Nova rather than straight Sony but what's on it?
Well, you can see five of the orchestras and six of the conductors on the box, but it looks like the usual warhorses - Only Beethoven's ninth, Berlioz Fantastique and Bach Goldberg are shown.

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

2 large bargain purchases recently for me, and I am slowly working my way through them. Both are large EMI collections. One is their David Oistrakh box (listening at the movement to the Beethoven Triple Concerto with Sargent) and the other is their large Mahler box, which I purchased solely so that I might have Horenstein's Fourth.

I'm not much of a downloader..give me a CD any day.
However, I have been after the Rubbra symphonies for a while. They can be downloaded complete for £7.99 from Classics online. Did this today, and have got them all successfully burned to CD (I think) !
Great value, if a bit of a pain !I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.
