Another Euro well-invested in a second-hand shop this afternoon: the only classical CD in a box of French 'pop' that I rummaged in.

Mozart:
Symphony n° 40, Sinfonia of London, Anthony Collins (rec 1959, and oddly enough the first ever classical vinyl - CfP - I ever bought about 300! years ago, which I'd always assumed never made it to CD)

Symphony n° 41, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Boult (rec 1974/1975 and stitched together, I suppose!)

Royal Classics

Incidentally, I have a Royal Classics CD which includes a marvellous "Also sprach..." with Maazel and the Philharmonia; one of the versions I find myself returning to often.

Further investigation shows that the Documents label has a range of CD box sets, including sets of Ferrier, Kirsten Flagstad, Franco Corelli and Solti, Glenn Gould, Kempff etc. some of which may be relatively cheap at stores such as Amazon.

More serendipity - Carmen Piazzini's reordings of Mozart have been pointed out elsewhere. The sonatas are available As downloads here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mozart-The-C...9503135&sr=8-1 at £4.49, though oddly the same site has what appears to be the same reordings also in MP3 format for £7.49.

The sonatas are on Spotify if you don't want to buy the download, but I can't find the complete concertos there. Number 21 is there in case anyone has Spotify and wants to sample:

The last movement is livelier than the first!

ITunes also has these for £4.49 and £7.99 and presumably in aac format, so arguably the sound quality might be better. Probably not much to choose between them, though.

I seem to remeber these being flagged a while back.
Wasn't there a problem with some missing tracks?.
At the time I downloaded the Barenboim ECO set for £7.99 from i tunes,it's now £12.99 which still isn't bad.

Yes, the finale of K491 has to be bought (for 69p!) separately.
