As this is my first post I would like to say hello and thank those members who previously drew my attention on another thread to the Elgar 1 / BBCSO / Boult disc on ICA ( c/w Brahms 3 ) which I purchased - the Elgar performance was unknown to me and has proved to be a revelation - the roar at the end says it all !!
If, like me, anyone enjoys the conducting / interpretations of Gunter Wand, this newish 29 CD set of previously released recordings may be of interest at a pretty good price considering what is on offer. I bought the similar set of Bernstein recordings last year and found it to be well produced and with a superb book (let).
It is however rather large ( LP size ) so can present shelf / storage problems.

Furtwangler's magnificent EMI Brahms symphonies set was in the HMV sale at £6.99 online yesterday together with the Domingo/Stemme Pappano Tristan for £11.99.Last edited by Barbirollians; 23-03-12, 15:39.
