Very interesting, I agree BUT the format is rather off-putting - it's another one of those LP-sized boxes with 4 CDs/layer. Whose bright idea is that?

I know what you mean with those large boxes. As they are, they are quite impractical. The 60CD Bernstein symphony box which I acquired recently is also like that. I unpacked it all, put the CDs in their own rack and the surplus packaging went to the loft.

A litle pressure to test the sincerity of that new year's resolution to cut down on purchases - the new 144cd Rubinstein box featured on CD Review recently for £126.09 delivered! (AMcG reported it could be had for around £300 although until I found the link below the cheapest I had seen it was £170).
