Now added. The physical release is a while off but the download is available now. Some, though by no means all, multi-format disc players, etc., can play the 5.0 surround files from USB, DVD-R, etc.

May I suggest you leave your computer to get on with it if/when downloading Part 1 of the FLAC zip option. It took three attempts to get it to complete for me. The first two attempts simply reported as "failed" partway through. I was also browsing during the first two attempts.

It is indeed. I have the Shostakovich and Smetana CD sets already and they are excellent: well played and well recorded, with the Smetana set in particular including some relatively little known music.

Though no longer qualifying as a bargain, Kuchar's Prokofiev (not quite complete symphonies and concertos) is worth a listen. O.k., some of the works are conducted by Wit, but . . .

Thanks Edgy 2 for the heads-up about the Presto Kuchar download. While browsing on the Presto site I also noticed the 13 CD Brilliant Alkan Edition and the Diogenes complete Schubert String Quartets available on MP3 at £4.51 each plus a number of other big box sets. Amazing bargains!

A few of us here were on the Alkan set a while back IIRC, I paid £8 for the MP3s, must have another browse

I had those recommendable Kuchar recordings as CDs, otherwise I would certainly have gone for this offer.

These cheap downloads are a great way to acquire niche or unfamiliar items which you might not go for at normal price. I have downloaded Brilliant's 20th-Century Italian Piano Music Vol 1 from Presto. Just starting to enjoy discovering lots of interesting and for me totally new repertoire. There must be a Vol 2 but Presto doesn't seem to have it - MusicWeb have a review of the whole set.

Not sure I really need 17 CDs of French Baroque Flute, but it looks like a superb bargain for anyone who does.
