Annoyingly, I got the double fforte edition a few years ago, so a purchase would involve two thirds duplication. It also probably cost more than the triple. C'est la vie.
By the way, also well worth getting is the Brilliant Classsics Lieder twofer. Cheapest here, I think:

Sadly I can relate to that emotion all too well. These days I've come to accept that the buying and collecting is as much of the fun as the listening....

Now I've gone and found some Karajan sets (don't look at the Karajanophobia thread!), so now wondering whether to "invest" there as well. I'm not sure that I even liked much of K's work anyway, though some is undoubtedly superb, but there could be interesting things there.

I don't think we're going to have County Court judgements against us just yet, though, nor do I need to go down to Sainsburys for a cardboard box.

Re msg 1166, I didn't even know Massenet had also done Cinderella until I spotted this http://www.opera-lille.fr/fr/saison-...297_cendrillon. Is there a recording? Doesn't seem to be in the Decca (complete) set, or did I miss it?

if I had time I'd be tempted to take the Eurostar over to Lille for the last weekend this month.

No longer sure the "invest" needs quotation marks. If Amazon is anything to go by some of my CDs appear to have gone up in value rather than down. However, knowing my luck, should I decide to sell up there'll be the inevitable reposte: Sorry, Sir, there's really no demand for that.

This box is due to be released next week. It is £18.99 at AmazonUk but $7.99 at Amazon.com. Just ordered and, with delivery charge, it came to £9.38 (I went for the cheapest/slowest option as in no hurry).

I have quite a few in that series, mainly from the first 50 releases. Great stuff. For non-europeans, they actually wrote some nice music.
