arrived today. Several replacements for treasured LPs and a few duplicates of CDs (those also involving Boulez). The vast majority, however, will be quite new to my ears.

It is an interesting box, with much to enjoy within. His early 70s attempts at Elgar had mixed reviews at the time and provide an interesting comparison with his Berlin recordings on Decca.
My £54.17 box arrived today. Many discs offer decidedly short measure for CDs (under 40 minutes (one barely 33 minutes) but some include 2 LP's content on a single CD. Presentation is excellent. It will be interesting to seek to determine whether the remastering is the same as that for the Mahler Remastered box.
I rather like his early Elgar - has a certain freshness about it - perhaps because it was new ground for him at the time.
Does that imply reservations on the recent SKB recordings? Personally I was somewhat overwhelmed by the 1st but it's definitely a mature/autumnal rather than young and thrusting reading
Reminder today in another post (re: Silvestrov) this is still available from 7Digital. 5 minutes spent searching for anything else of interest, leads me to conclude this was a very lucky needle to find in a very unhelpful to navigate haystack. They also have the Tchaikovsky Symphonies at a good price (and that is about it) - search on the conductor's first and second name.
Also - the link above - it appears that the LPO label has been dropped by the site in the link - searches do not bring up the box images or the booklets. BUT - using that link and this:

I specifically looked out for the Elgar Symphony CD previously, as I had heard some of that previously on a CBS master tape - excellent sound quality. I’m less sure about buying the whole box (and duplicating what I already have) but it does seem a good price.

Various sales at Qobuz right now. Mostly obscure but some decent DG reductions and pretty much the whole Supraphon catalogue reduced. Lots of excellent Ancerl, Mackerras, Janácek Quartet and others for £3.19 plus Haas Quartet for a little more.
A highlight for me was the little known suite from my avatar’s opera with Belohlávek (+ CLV and HOTD)

The Bernstein box is physically massive, and the Harnoncourt box is not much smaller. Is the Barenboim box similar?
