Mine's not despatched. Good luck on the import duty if you do get one !
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Not having had one like this before, I didn't know that. so one can challenge this at the PO collections with the payment evidence, if necessary ?

Though amazon.com have charged £15.51 (including p&p) at their own inflated exchange rate, their invoice quotes the $ total debited from my credit card as $19.09, including p&p, which at today's exchange rate quoted by https://www.google.com/search?client...ency+converter is equivalent to £14.51, i.e. below the £15 upper limit for duty-free imports. Duty is based on the value of the item imported. That is usually taken as being the price paid, in this case well below the £15 limit. However, p&p may be included in the total. In this case, I think it comes down to a case of "wait and see what happens".

The package is being "shipped with Landmark", rather than US Post/Royal Mail. I have no idea how they handle Import Duty charges.

I'm sure Bryn's name on an order activates an algorithm and he get 'automatic priority despatch.'

I don't know about CDs. One option might be to refuse a shipment if the customs charges are too high - though you'd probably lose the payment for the CDs as well. I once had a pair of prescription spectacles sent to me from the US. The customs people tried to charge me - obviously spectacles cost a lot - but when I produced the receipt for the $15 (IIRC) which I'd already paid in the US - as that was the charge under the health scheme I'd been in - they gave way and allowed me to collect and take them.

Probably his bulk orders make it worth their while!

For what it's worth, my single order for the Szeryng box from amazon.com was placed on the 7th inst. I must admit I placed it, as did I that for the French Mozart 225 boxes, more out of devilment and the hope of denting the tax dodgers' profits a little, than in any real expectation of success in either instance. However, it looks like Szeryng is following in the tradition of the Real Chopin.

Indeed. I got it from HMV last autumn, having 'pre-ordered' it at £79.99 with 'free' p&p. If and when the amazon.com set arrives, I would be happy to split the difference and sell it for £48 plus p&p at cost, unopened, if anyone might want it.
