Latest update, "Now arriving February 6".

I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm going to take my hat off the rack and put it on the table now. The relevant cutlery from the drawer will be joining it later.

I would add an important rider. It has not been dispatched as yet, so the transaction has not yet been finalized*.

                  * WIth due respect to American spelling, since it is supposedly coming from t'other side of the Pond.

What sauces and/or condiments will you use?

... the usual solution is to wear a cabbage on your head for a day or two - it then counts as a 'hat', and can be consumed (the cabbage/hat*, that is) following the recipe of your choice. I like savoy, but red cabbage is good too...

[ ...* or képi-ge, as the French might have it. I suppose you could also make a bowler soup... ]

The shortly forthcoming release of the Complete Works of Hector Berlioz by Warner can be found at what appears to be the most competitive price at amazon.it. That's £47.72 including p&p to the UK. The amazon.co.uk price is £60.50 (with 'free' delivery).

The listing of the works and recordings is here - https://www.prestomusic.com/classica...complete-works The price is slightly lower than am.uk, though not so keen as am.it.

Looking at the listings raises the question of whether I/we really want/"need" so much Berlioz. A number of pieces I'd never even heard of before, and certainly a few which I've not heard, or which were totally unmemorable, which is almost, but not quite, the same thing.

I didn't bite on this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Berlioz-Ody...TR65BRMCJPN9WM - though I think I have most of the Colin Davis recordings from LSO Live already.

Also, only 6 of the 16 discs are SACD, the rest being bog-standard CDs. I am happy to 'make do' with the several discs which I already have from the series, plus the very cheap mp3s which were discussed on this forum a few weeks ago.

Get out that knife and fork. To my great surprise, it has been dispatched. No kidding. They say it is on its way and due to be delivered on February 6th.

Best of luck to the others who ordered it.

No despatch notice for me, though mine will supposedly arrive a day before yours.
