I only had one of Matthias Goerne's one-man Schubert Lieder edition (Schöne Müllerin) on Harmonia Mundi so I have just acquired the 12 disc set for £29.66) from an Amazon seller (post free from the seller's site). (Similar prices are available elsewhere). I would regard this as a definite bargain with individual discs still going for full price. A fine contribution from a devoted Lieder singer with one of the great voices of our time, using various accompanists. Some marvellous interpretations, sometimes on the slow side, but I was happy to go along with that.

Even presto, which is often excellent at providing fleshed out detail, seems to only be providing basic information for this/these sets - or have I missed something?
Try searching for "arkivmusic teldec complete bach edition".

The JPC.de website makes it quite clear that it is a reissue of the 2012 set (i.e. the more expensive one on the Amazon UK site).

Would look good if I did not already have most of the recordings therein.

The Warner Complete Debussy was delivered to my next door neighbour's address on Saturday. I collected it about half an hour ago. Good that it has the recited Chansons de Bilitis (Seyrig/Nash Ensemble). Something that annoyed me about the Sony Debussy Collection was that they failed to include their premier Zorina/Craft recording of the work. My LP of that is no longer playable due to heat damage.

While on the subject of this set:

My Warner Bach edition is on its way from Weybridge, due for delivery before 20:00 hrs. For once it did not start out from Dunfermline but from Piacenza (last Friday).

The Warner/Teldec Bach Complete Edition has been delivered. The casing is not quite what I was expecting. No flip up lid, just a hard, glazed and printed card box in a lighter card slip-wrap. For convenient access to the discs it will probably be best to remove them all, place a thin dowel spacing strip in the back of the box and return the disc slip-cases and book to their place, except protruding a little to make picking an individual disc easier.

This is NOT what you get with the new cheaper version:

What you get looks similar at first sight, but with an important cost-cutting difference:

Also, the wash is pale brown, rather than grey.

[The book, by the way, is simply 350 pages of track listing. There are no texts or programme notes. There is no DVD, either. So, basic but good value I would opine.]

... interesting, thanks for the detailed info.

I have the 1999 teldec Complete Bach edition, which seems to overlap with this recent incarnation quite a lot. The various 'new improved' bits I suspect I already have in other formats - so I think this time I shall be abstaining...

Just downloaded the Suzuki LvB Missa Solemnis. 16 and 24 bit (stereo and surround) plus mp3, all for $11.11 (£8.20) the lot.

Beethoven began composing the Missa solemnis in 1819, when he learned that his patron (and pupil) Archduke Rudolph was going to be appointed Cardinal Archbishop of Olmütz.

I looked into this, but in the end found that I could stream the symphonies from Qobuz -
Listen to Kirill Kondrashin in unlimited on Qobuz and buy the albums in Hi-Res 24-Bit for an unequalled sound quality. Subscription from £10.83/month

The Bach box is looking interesting though, if I have enough spare cash.

Albeit rather more expensive at £47.99.

I got that Bach Edition on usb. A novelty at the time now an irrelevant idea. I've put it on 64 gb stick with loads of othe stuff, permanently available plugged into my player.
