Dhm-Edition Box-Set - 100cds €100 on Amazon Germany (no price on UK site) and due for release on 24 November.

Details scarce and the usual Amazon maniacal track listing. However, a poster on another board has pieced together a listing which might be helpful despite the occasional omission or indeed mistake. He also notes that there appears to be only a fraction of overlap with the previous two 50cd Dhm boxes. Given the numbers on these boards interested in the Baroque and it's fringes, it may be helpful to share this list before the inevitable price rise. Herewith the list:

I think almost certainly not, as I have now bought more than £20 worth of kindle purchases as Daily Deals. When I try to order anything less than £20 I still get the message that I need to top the order up to get the free delivery.

I do sometimes get notifications of other free offers - such as downloads - but I can't usually figure out how to do that, so ignore most of them.

Now listening to the Milestones of a Legend - Annie Fischer box - Bartók 3rd piano concerto. I've got way to go before fully evaluating this set, but I feel the recordings are OK - considering. Not up to the latest standards, but bearable and the performances do have something to say, so at around £1 per CD reasonable value.

I found this article about AF from the Spectator - https://www.spectator.co.uk/2014/08/...-realise-this/ She lived to be 80 - despite cigarettes!

I purchased this set earlier in the year. No complaints about the sound, certainly none about the performances.

Yes - 'Ashtray Annie' was her nomenclature but I'm sure she wasn't the only chain-smoking pianist.

Arrived on Friday - now listened to 16 to 19. Quite serviceable but do not displace any of my favourites at the top of the pile.

Quite serviceable for what? I have never heard a harsher or more unsympathetic pianism. How did Kurt Masur get mixed up in this?

The controlling authorities in the DDR found Kurt Masur politically acceptable for several conducting posts in East Germany. Masur is mentioned because of his fine work, including the set of Mozart piano concertos, with the Dresdner Philharmonie an orchestra frequently overshadowed by the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. In the said set of Mozart concertos, soloist Annerose Schmidt is a pianist I have never encountered before.

Ah yes, the much non-lamented late GDR. How could I forget?

                        Ostalgie is doing very nicely.

I did buy the set in the end, but I've only listened to one so far. I didn't think the performance I heard was that bad.

Perhaps I was being too polite - in truth they were not my best purchase - I don't think Masur does much Mozart - probably even less after this experience!

                              Blimey !
I've listened a couple of these cds and didn't think they were too bad.
Sure, they won't be displacing any favourites of mine but harsh and unsympathetic seems, well, harsh to me.

                                Hiya EdgeleyRob ,

You know I have several sets of the complete Mozart piano concertos and have never been entirely satisfied with any of them. I think the ongoing set by Mitsuko Uchida and the Cleveland Orchestra is promising to be the finest so far. I also rather admire the Barenboim set as soloist with the Berliner Philharmoniker. I am quite tempted to give that set by Annerose Schmidt and the Dresdener Philharmonie at try.

During my recent Dresden trips I have been trying to learn something about life in the DDR. Unlike the big cities Berlin and Munich many people of my own age in Dresden don't speak English as it was forbidden to be taught in East German schools during that era. Of course it is different now especially in the cities as all young people seem to want to speak English.
