You could probably get a good chunk of the price back by flogging the Haitink on Amazon market place.

anyway , Just do it .You know you want to.....

Yes, I do know I want to and yes, the identical thought about the Haitink box had crossed my mind too...

      Will sleep on it.

A few more details (and a slightly higher price) here -

152 CDs plus book(s) and other material.

There's also 30% off the list price of other RCO recordings - at http://www.prestoclassical.co.uk/promotion/rcolive up to 14th August.

Given this price and the additional material I have ordered a copy. (I thought about getting a second as an ‘investment’ but it may prove to be a poor one if cds become even less popular).
There is evidence - and I use that word with caution and in it's widest sense given that the source is Lebrecht - that RCO live are closing down or indeed have done so already. So, no hanging around as supplies may quickly run out.

Are you on Concertgebouw commission, hafod?

It may be of interest to Lieder fans that jpc have just issued the cpo Complete Brahms Edition as a convenient slim box on 11 CDs for only 39.99 Euro. I can't even see it on sale from any GB sellers. The series was generally very well received. I took advantage of already paying postage to UK and snapped up this Schumann male voice disc from Singphoniker on special offer at only 2.99 - well reviewed when it came out.

Unfortunately not - an oversight on my part. Anyway, I would not be surprised if the orchestra in general and the musicians involved (those still alive of course) make little from it. T'was ever thus. Actually, I try to share with real music lovers the very best of the occasional exceptional deal (or indeed mis-pricing) whenever I am lucky enough to stumble across one. I find that there is not much else to be really enthusiastic about these days outside the fields of classical music and immersing oneself in the country's heritage mainly as manifest in visiting old houses, gardens and museums.

Well, if you are ever in my vicinity visiting a Scottish baronial mansion or castle, the drinks are on me for that NYPO bargain of bargains - from which I am deriving a great deal of enjoyment.

There was such a rumour - I gather it's RCO Editions (an iPad app) which is coming to an end, being replaced with videos directly on the RCO website. RCO Live is continuing as before......

The Membran Furtwangler box (107CDs) is on Amazon for £69.99. The reviews seem pretty positive.

I've taken the plunge and clicked on the 'buy' button! It isn't that I can't afford it, it's just a big spend during the Proms season when spending is already high.

My problem with this is that I have some of the volumes already, so I suspect I'd be duplicating perhaps 50% or more, and in honesty i can't say that I've listened to all the ones I have so far. The sane approach might be to pass .... but .....
