Do we know what kind of instrument(s) she plays on? Here's an example - http://open.qobuz.com/album/4260036250978 - doesn't sound like a Steinway or Fazioli, but is it an instrument with any claims to "authenticity" - whatever that is nowadays?

Does look like a nice set.

... she plays on a Bösendorfer Imperial Grand - so no claims to authenticity.

              A pity...

Great offer. Just taken the plunge on this. The set should see me out.

This set was gobbled up by many of us in the forum 2/3 years ago for £12 from one of the European Amazons (France?). Can’t remember who found it and gave the heads-up.

Indeed, but as I said it doesn't sound like one of the other models. The playing seems for the most part very good.
Are there any similar sets but performed on (arguably) more appropriate instruments?

A couple of other "possibles" - though I don't know if they are actually any good.

                            Helmuth Rilling - Selection - https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/det...n/hnum/3503141 12.99 euros

Gerhard Oppitz - Schubert Piano music - https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/det...2/hnum/5685846 19.99 euros

They only appear to get a 3 star rating on the jpc.de site, and I can't find any other reviews. Amazon have them, but at much higher prices.

Even more - just noticed - 50 CDs of choral type music - https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/det...e/hnum/6034256 49.99 euros - again I know nothing about ratings.

Simon Rattle and his soloists - https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/det...n/hnum/2149216 19.99 euros. This costs more in the UK.

There's also a 52 CD box of "The Birmingham Years" for 49.99 euros.

Also, there's more by Gerhard Oppitz, playing Beethoven.

If you prefer the harpsichord I'd recommend Bob van Asperen's 3 CD set including the Prussian and Wuerttemberg Sonatas on Das Alte Werk - Teldec.

                                Now on Warner Classics: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bach-CPE-Pr...ob+van+asperen
