I have just noticed that by opting for the QOBUZ download one does miss out on disc 14, a DVD of Mahler 4, Christmas Day 2014. It does not appear to have been posted on YouTube either. This is a different performance to that due to be released on SACD soon.

I have a basic 320kbps mp3 streaming subscription. Others here use "Sublime" I think. They would be able to offer advice on that option. You do not need to subscribe to download the Jansons/RCO set at the price quoted. You might have to email QOBUZ to enable downloads to the UK. It's a couple of years since I first downloaded from QOBUZ, so they may have dropped the need to email them for UK downloads.

Originally posted by Bryn View PostWhich, that with Dorothea Röschmann, which I see listed as an SACD, or that from last Christmas, which is the DVD in the 14 disc boxed set?
Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 4 in G major (DVD)
Anna Prohaska, soprano
so probably not the SACD.

I think it's been featured before (don't have time to search the thread!), but I'm not sure the John Ogdon icon box has been as cheap as this previously? At £12.65 + free postage (if you can find more to buy to get over Amazon's £20 threshold) for 17 CDs, this seems like a terrific bargain so I have duly ordered and look forward to investigating a pianist I know little of.

I would have bitten but for the fact that four of the discs I already own via the 70th Birthday Edition that came out a few years back. Still a great bargain!

They look like Love Hearts (anyone remember those? Fizzy sweets with little Romantic messages on, like "You? Do me a Favour!", "Tried Using Clearasil?", "Even if I said 'Yes', My Guide Dog Would Object". Or was that just the packets I bought?)Numquam Satis!
