Maybe, and it's still cheaper from amazon.it than from amazon.co,uk.

Be they on CDs or USB stick, for me those Bach cantatas from Harnoncourt and Leonhardt are essential!

Tempting Baroque selection but would use a lot of shelf space and has some duplicates for me and a few too many "highlights" discs.

Yes - this is chiefly what put me off this release.

I linked to that one, and amazon informed me that I'd already got it!

Re the Beethoven quartets I wonder if the very low price is to entice prospective buyers to go for £20 or more stuff, to get the free postage, though as previously noted it's a terrific bargain even with the postage added in. I have those performances already on EMI Red Line discs I think, and I probably can't really justify any "spares" even for the car, though as a filler for other orders (some which would have more expensive p&p) it could be really good.

Supermarket bread and milk tempts, perhaps!

the Celibidache French and Russian box is currently in offer, but out of stock, at just over £10 at amazon uk.
I ordered it with the Baroque box, and assume I will get it carriage free at the £10 price when it is available again.

Am I making a false assumption?

A number of Icons are pretty cheap there this morning - The superb Annie Fischer box is only £10.14.

Ditto - the Silvestri and Annie Fischer Icon boxes have finally lured me in, together with the ABQ Beethoven set, all qualifying for free postage and setting me up for some heavy duty (poor word: pleasure, not duty) listening whilst waiting for summer to arrive. Thanks to Hafod, Mark and Barbirollians for the alerts.

Having auditioned both of the below, these look like unmissable bargains to me:

British Composers: Arthur Bliss (Box Set) A fiver no more for 5 CDs.

Richter/Gilels: Russian Piano Sonatas £0.99 on Amazon Marketplace (includes Gilels' legendary performance of Medtner's Op.22 sonata in a truly overwhelming performance).

The Bliss really is a bargain, but it needs supplementing with Meditations on a theme of John Blow (of which there is an EMI recording, CBSO/Handley, but presumably no room to fit on one of the rejigged CDs; it was coupled with Checkmate and Adam Zero on CDC7477122).

Used copy available for £0.81 (plus p+p) here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bliss-Checkm.../dp/B00093IRVM
