A slight caveat to all prospective emptors - there are only three of the six excellent Hamburg Symphonies (with a couple of Concertos between). I would've preferred the complete set. Still working my way through this box: a splendid bargain by any standards.

When's the great day, ferney? Best of bests, whenever
Cheers, ami - 'twas on the Tuesday that I posted, when I duly ticked Tchaikovsky off my "composers I've lived longer than" list.

Ah - so Bach going on Handel would give ...?? A new sport here, I think. Elliott Carter could be tough, and even Gabriel Fauré might be quite hard.

Yup. Beethoven's next on my list.

Maybe someone could process this list in a "useful" way - http://www.classical.net/music/composer/dates/comp3.php

There can't be too many of those left. I expect Queldryk in the Medieval section is still empty.

Is that the evil composer genius in "Game of Thrones" or would that be the star of the Old Hall Manuscript? If the latter, no, a gap to be filled - as in, is this a good buy?

Recommendations from 15th century anoraks welcome

Did they have anoraks in C15th?

I knew someone who had a chain mail vest once.
I think it wouldn't go in his washing machine!
