I don't like the rules, but I also don't like the fact that the big can bend them, (as Hafers says,) and the little can't.
I think a discussion about tax policy is for elsewhere, but the fact that corporation tax take is collapsing, due in considerable measure to the pressure and avoidance (legal , I accept) of the likes of Amazon, means that government debt remains stubbornly high, and tax burden will inevitably transfer over time from the thriving big corporate sector to the not thriving individual. Not good things IMO.
If you actually want my opinion, I think governments will have to (and probably want to on principle) shift towards lower, more regressive turnover and consumption taxes.

Stonking bargain! People should fill their boots.

Alas, I have all the Brahms and most of the Mahler, so I'll not be indulging

Some of the "Big" Boxes in MP3 format from Amazon are fairly cheap - such as the Big Haydn Box for £6.99. US readers have an even better deal with the Big Haydn box at 99 cents, and similarly for the Schubert box - e.g http://www.amazon.com/Big-Haydn-Box-...=big+haydn+box These boxes come from the Bach Guild.

However most of the material is on Spotify, and the sound quality may not be significantly different from Amazon's mp3s. Other composers in this series include Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach and Handel, and there is an extra "box" of Haydn Symphonies - some conducted by David Blum. There is a Bigger Bach Set also available in the US - at $2.99 - though it costs significantly more in the UK.

For downloaders, today's e-classical.com pre-Christmas BIS download (at 50% off) is the Claus Peter Flor/Malaysian Philharmonic Josef Suk "Asrael". At about £4.00 for the 24/44 FLAC download (the booklet comes as well as a PDF), it's a bit of a bargain at the price. See:

The Brandenburg Concertos & Orchestral Suites 3 Disc download - $16. Bach Collegium Japan Suzuki, Masaaki

I'm interested in any views on this interpretation, has anyone heard them? Thanks

                      Also - just to say
Stile Antico 1 Disc download $6.69

.... Carnegie UK Trust ...(marking its centenary in 2013), the publication of Tudor Church Music in 1922-29 was to transform the musical life of a whole nation. For the first time a significant body of the greatest Tudor compositions became accessible to scholars, performers and listeners alike. Stile Antico presents a varied selection of the finest pieces from TCM, in a programme centred around William Byrd's masterful five-part mass.

                          OH. AH.

I received the mozart too !! until now I thought that it had been incorrectly picked by zoverstocks for another Mozart disc that I ordered last week.
I emailed Zover to tell them that the baroque 50 set didn't turn up and they agreed to credit.
I have reordered the 50 set from Rarewaves on Play.com marketplace yesterday, but I'm pessimistic now.
On the upside, I have a more or less free 9 CD Mozart set, and looks like Zover might have credited me twice for the baroque set.

I got the Mozart too. From rare waves so I'd cancel if I was you. They aren't too good at reading or replying to emails.
