Having discovered and worked through Rimsky operas with some pleasure, I've just ordered the corresponding Prokofiev set for about 30 quid.

Very good that set is, too. However, prepare yourself for possibly hefty import duty, plus Royal Mail handling charge of around £8.00. You may get lucky though.

If you cancel the USA order and re-order from the German company, you will remove the risk that Bryn points out.

I think you get 30 mins post-order to cancel any order from any company on Amazon, after that it can be tricky.

Ah, just noticed you wrote "for about 30 quid", so perhaps you avoided the potential Import Duty by skipping the 'cheapest' option and going for the EU option as recommended by Beef Oven!

Luckily, I ordered the one "dispatched from Germany" which cost only a few pence more and announced NO DELAY BY CUSTOMS!. Fingers crossed.

25 CDs of Russian pianists for about £20. Any good?

The recordings presumably mostly derive from Russian radio. So live performances, which you'll think either a benefit, or not.

I don't know whether they'll have come from Russian radio or not. Could Brilliant have licensed at least some of them from recording companies? I've heard good reports of some other CDs of this type, but not this set, or some of the CDs within it.

Of course live recordings pose problems - if indeed these are live - as in a Mravinsky performance of Tchaikovsky 5 which sounds as though it was conducted in the middle of a flu epidemic.
