Here goes again - this time trying YouTube.

This is going to be lower resolution, so try watching it in Full Screen mode - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mgt-D...ature=youtu.be

    Good Luck.

Click on this link, and download or view the mp4 video directly. I've not tested it yet, so don't know if it will work! Here goes.
I give in. Good evening, and thanks for all the fish.

I put up another video for you to watch see msg 16 again.

I'll probably delete it - if I can - once you've seen it and inwardly digested.

I wonder how many complete sets of the 9 have been issued since the dawn of recordings.
I worked at a retail music store in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the late 1970s. I was reasonably conversant with the 6-12 cycles that were then commonly available in the States. Many excellent European cycles were not available and have only showed up here in the last few years.

            By Jove I've go it!!!!!!

I've not been feeling well lately and I only had 4 hours sleep last night. Also, my family have the TV on loud, hard to concentrate like that. And I couldn't find my reading glasses................ I'm not thick, my mum said I'm intelligent

              Well done.

Now we all expect to see links to loads of review sites for Beethoven and other interesting recordings and music news from you.

Enjoy your new found skills. You can learn the underlying code if you want to, but as I hope the video shows, you don't need to - just copy, paste, highlight, link, click etc. Sometimes the codes are useful, but not for the simple linking to other sites.

Sorry you've not been feeling well. Hopefully you'll get some sleep tonight, having cracked this puzzle.

I thought it was worth pointing out.
Well found, Dave. Full of interesting perceptions. Curious how dispiriting the descriptor "solid" can be.

I'm sure in American "solid" is more complimentary than it sounds in English.

I am prepared to await the release of a hopefully re-issued CD box.

Me too. I have 16 sets of the complete Beethoven symphonies but would like to see a re-issue of this one. Odd that it's not been made available on CD long ago.

I love this box set - I found it miraculously in mint condition years ago in Music and Video Exchange, Notting Hill for £15! Decca with it's usual marvellous sound engineering - if you can find it - GET IT!

Sadly I think this veritable business has gone - the classical part, certainly..... unless I need an update?

I loved that shop and spent some happy hours (and cash) in there. Last time I went past it had merged with one of the other shops (forget which) and was a shadow of what it used to be. Never bothered to go in since.
