    Stravinsky- Persephone

A release of a 1960 performance of Stravinsky's rare oratorio Persephone. This should be a very nice addition to the library!
Stravinsky: Perséphone. Audite: AUDITE95619. Buy download online. Fritz Wunderlich (tenor) & Doris Schade (narrator) Chor des Süddeutschen Rundfunks, Chor des Hessischen Rundfunks, Schwanheimer Kinderchor & Sinfonie-Orchesters des Hessischen Rundfunks, Dean Dixon

    Unusually sung in German too.

I heard the CBSO perform this two years ago and a lovely work it is too. Lasting 50 minutes it is Stravinsky's longest work omitting The Rake's Progress (or a slow Oedipus )

Thanks for this Threni. I agree it's a lovely work: have an old Proms recording with Andrew Davis. It should be in French though?
