In Vienna, around 10 years ago, there seemed to be umpteen CD shops, but very little in the way of bargains (or British music )

I'm considering booking a family trip to Rome for a few days in February - any recommendations for classical CD shops there (new or second hand)?

Someone here suggested that Vienna is the world music capital. Maybe - depends how you look at it. Personally I think London beats any other city in the world at the current time.

Re Budapest - it used to have one or 2 good CD shops, as did Prague, but things could very well have changed in the last few years.

There was a pretty good Ricordi on the Via del Corso last time I was there.

And this takes us back to matthias b's previous threads on such matters, e.g.

Jussieu-Musique is a continuing focus of nostalgia for me (shared with vinteuil) http://www.for3.org/forums/showthrea...026#post186026
