    This week 60 years ago....

    ....Dennis Brain made his set of Mozart Horn concertos at Kingsway. Never been out of the catalogue. Allegedly he had a music stand at the sessions but it did't just have the music on it, it had a copy of Autocar!! Actually sessions were on 12/13th November with patching on 23rd.

        And probably most, if not all, of the Philharmonia accompanying too...

        Presumably, any further reissue will be on the Warner label

          Whilst it probably doesn't matter a fig what label music appears on I find it strange to see so much material I'd connected with EMI for years now on Warner. Sony issues now combine the Sony (CBS) and RCA catalogues - very confusing particularly with Ormandy reissues as he moved from one to the other in the late 60s going on to remake a fair chunk of repertoire.
