Kenneth Woods - Schumann and Gal symphonies

I came accross Wood's blog ("A view from the podium") and found some interesting material so I downloaded his Gal 4 / Schumann 2.

I was very impressed with the Schumann - excellent balance and lots of rhythmic energy.

I very much enjoyed the Gal on a first listen - accessibly tonal but somehow with a disctinctive voice. That said I need to hear it again as I sometime find that liking a late 20th century work on a first acquantance is a bad sign!

Has anyone else partaken of this series (three discs so far)?

Antonio Meneses made a fine recording of the Gal Cello Concerto, coupled with the Elgar. It's probably downloadable, if you don't wish to have another Elgar. It is a sad nostalgic work that fits the Cello perfectly.
