Haebler is a new discovery for me, but an increasingly vital one. I simply love her playing. I now have her Mozat Violin Sonatas w. Szeryng on two s/h Philips Duo discs.

Yes, this has proved a rather persuasive selling point. It can then be disappointing when files dont enter the download queue as with the recent Decca Rachmaninov Piano Trios.

I assume you also go through patches of listening to something over and over again.

I had wondered if it was a personal affliction, and am pleased to learn it is not. I often find that having listened to one particular perfomance on record, i have an urge/need/desire/compulsion to listen to every recording I own. A few days ago, prompted by the performance thread, I listened to Askenazy's recent RFH performance of the Manfred symphony. I have subsequently played it again, twice more, before moving on to Rostropovich, Markevich, Previn, Silvestri, Toscanini, Sinaisky, Goossens and Svetlanov before I even embark on a serious search in the more recondite areas of my collection. Plus there will be plenty of boarders who will wonder how I can manage without XXX's astonishing traversal. Please, please, refrain from telling me. Well, alright, tell me but don't expect me to buy it. Not just yet anyway.

All French music for me now (yet again...when R3 concerts don't distract) so it's Magnard, Roussel, Poulenc... I've never yet heard Padmavati, so that's the next treat once I've recovered from an exhausting week. Lack of sunlight isn't much help, hibernation looks most attractive - if it weren't for music...
