I can safely say without fear of contradiction, that I have never knowingly watched any Noel Edmonds TV programmes.

(Ok, I had a little peek at 'Deal Or No Deal' a few months ago, and after 10 minutes I switched off because I didn't understand the rules).

Back iin the day They (or somebody similar) actually turned up with some "Buffing Equipment" at about 3 in the morning at my student house.

Of course in those days students were sleeping it off at that time of night, whereas now they are just at the end of the "Pre lash" phase.....sad times...

oddly enough, our old family variant "Let's take these nice people to bed, or perhaps they'd prefer to go home", not only got rid of unwanted visitors but also proved an effective deterrent to repeat visits.

I thought this thread was going to be about music(*) but as it clearly isn't...

...at uni a friend once resorted to an even more direct method to clear me and another friend from his room: he simply started getting undressed And I don't think it was any later than 3am...

Still, he was a horn-player, which may or may not be an excuse (with apologies to all on this board of similar musical disposition)

(*) PS Looking back at my OP I should perhaps explain that the question mark that I put after 'music' was intended merely to give an opening to acoustical phenomena that posters wouldn't normally include under this classification: e.g. Scottish bagpipes for many (though not myself)...
