Cooking a rice noodles stir fry!!
If that's what the majority of people want to discuss, that's fine with me.
Still interested to know what you think of "A Tale" once you heard it, though, even in a week or month time.

Coco i think the boys are excited that another woman has joined the ranks, i think they are jousting for your attention even the JLW haters.

Just on JLW i have his recording of Walton's Cello Concerto and the Britten Cello Symp;hony, the Walton is enjoyable but the Cello Symphony never gets going with him the finale isplodding compared to the excellent recent Hyperion release with Gerhardt http://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc...A67941/2&vw=dc

Aren't there many women on the forum then? Better not starting on the topic of women musicians/conductors etc..
I must say I am not a great fan of Britten and don't know enough about the symphony to be able to compare different performances...but I will investigate, thanks for the link!

I would just like to say that there is the odd person on this forum who think that I am a woman.

Nobody seems to be jousting for my attention!! Actually , one of those people is a gay man, so that makes me feel better.

Anyway, back to the Arnold Cello Concerto......

John Lennon wrote a song about it, Ferney.

Not one of his best, really. Which seems a shame.

Still failing to grasp the issue at hand. Your response to #75 does you no favours. It merely fails to face up to the challenge contained therein.

Talking of Cello repertoire,if only Vaughan Williams had written that concerto.

Two actually ts. A controversially titled one in 1972 and one in 1980. IMO, neither is top-notch.

                              Wings did one too.

I had to research that, BTW.
