and there's a whole bunch of a collection here - http://www.julianlloydwebber.com/recordings.asp - even includes some music by Gavin Bryers.

I do have some cello concerto recordings by JLW - and they are very good.
Thanks for the links, yes, I particularly like the Rachmaninov.
About early recordings, my favourite one is Cello Man (vinyl), which was later released as Serenade:

(sorry I couldn't find the link on Amazon), and

    Harmonie (German release, I think):

Seeing that link on amazon, Michela, the RVW Romanza, that's from the composer's tuba Concerto. Now hearing the sample track, it does sound extremely well for cello as well, but was the Romanza version for cello and orchestra, the first version or did RVW first do this for his Tuba Concerto?

That was a tricky one, I had to look it up!
RVW arranged the Romance himself for Cello but it was originally in the Tuba Concerto.

Thank goodness it wasn't. Had it been, it would probably still be there, buried under a pile of real music scores!!
I feel for that poor cello...

Thanks to JLW (and Frank Bridge, of course) we now have THIS in the cello repertoire:

Julian Lloyd Webber plays Frank Bridge's Scherzetto for Cello and piano with John Lenehan at the 1989 Royal Command performance before Her Majesty the Queen ...

errm surely its a case of "No Sh*t Sherlock" ?
                        I mean
you go to the music library at the RCM and what do you know ?
You find the score of a piece of music

Maybe JLW could get a job at CERN ?

(Who is "Frank Fridge" ? ....... did he write the score for "Ice Cold In Alex" ?)

Now here's something of real interest found fairly recently in a library. A bridge too far some, perhaps.

I knew the piece, (the most important work in the 'cello repertoire since Webern's Op11, IMO) but didn't know of this article - many thanks, Bryn Interesting to contrast coco's uncharitable comments with similar (but positive) comments from someone who's heard it in performance:

This was the first time I had sat this close to a musician during a concert, something that made the performance go straight in: I felt almost as though I was the one playing … She (the performer) seemed like she gave all she had, and she almost mistreated the cello! Due to the excitement I started to sweat. When the endpin started to move … what drama! First I thought she did this deliberately, but suddenly, when I realized this was not planned, the excitement grew. In this moment, the performance changed from being a good performance to becoming a fantastic performance, when it appeared to be a fight for the music, so to speak. I remember thinking: “will she make it?” To me it seemed that she not only fought to hold on to the instrument, but also to hold on to the intensity of the music.

... "the intensity of the Music": that's it - rather than the pleasantly nostalgic wallow of JLlWeb's repertoire, Lachenmann is definitely Music that's awake to the expressive potential that previous composers hadn't explored (something, perhaps, that accounts for the greater number of performers and recordings that the work has received than, say, the fine farewells of Ireland). I don't suppose coco will like these much, either :
