    CD Review i-player not available?

I've been trying to LA to today's CD Review. No luck. Anyone else tried? I just get a message, "this content doesn't seem to be working".

    It isn't working.
I usually end up giving up on iplayer, one way or another, sad to say.

Gave up on the much discussed Manfred yesterday., and listened to a CD instead.

Ards, how would you like to give an expert opinion on this,as you are at a loose end....

    Cheers.
    (hope Iplayer kicks in soon...)

Teamsaint. I'd love to air my (amateur) views on the CD in question, but never having heard it, and not being about to buy it, it might be tricky! I'd just say that Sir Roger and the Schutz Consort (who they?) would not be top of my search list for Monteverdi madrigals.

With luck and a fair wind, the iPlayer team will sort out CD Review by Monday afternoon. Worth alerting them to the problem via the convoluted fault reporting system perhaps.

I thought you knew everything about choral music !!

having given it a spin, my first impression is that you well may be right. I found the forces a little overwhelming at times, though i can't say that is based on any knowledge of these madrigals, !!
Decent enough for a bargain purchase, and I was surprised at some of the harmonies in the works, in a good way.

Still not working. I have reported the fault via the convoluted "Contact us" system, and also emailed the CD Review team regarding the fault. Only time will tell whether the iPlayer teams gets round to sorting it out.

              Tuesday 8.37.
Still not working, but keep on trying ardcarp. Apart from the Theodora BaL. the Disc of the Week VIVALDI: Catone in Utica was definitely worth hearing (if you like Vivaldi, that is…)

You might like this. It has a slight sense of entering into Monteverdi from a side door. You might say it’s a novice’s recommendation (one of my ‘entering points’).

Still not fixed. Can others please use the iPlayer "Contact Us" system at https://iplayerhelp.external.bbc.co....orms/emailPage and email CD Review at cdreview@bbc.co.uk . Perhaps a few more alerts will nudge them into resolving the fault.

I've a horrible feeling that you can kiss this one goodbye. I complained via the stupid iplayer don't "Contact us" system and email on Sunday. It's sod's law this was the one show I really wanted to hear last week.

We're talking about CD Review with Handel's Theodora in Building a Library? iPlayer is working okay for me right now (listening to a very strange transcription of Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 19 for harp).

Ah. I had not thought to switch to the "LO" bandwidth and audio quality (49kbps 22kHz sample rate mono) option. I guess that is the only option normally available outside the UK. I have now tried selecting the low data rate option and that is indeed working, but the HD Sound option isn't.

I understand that the Head of Digital, BBC Radio 3, no less, Steve Bowbrick is now looking into this, and has promised to resolve it.

Will keep forumites updated on developments.

Thanks for keeping us informed Sir V. I would like to listen to this.

I did report the problem yesterday as requested by Bryn.

Time is running out, it's still not working ......

PS This morning I finally got a reply from the "BBC iPlayer Support Team" to the fault report I made on Sunday 29th. The wording is rather comical:

"understand you’ve been having some trouble hearing ‘CD Review’, broadcast on 28 September, using this service.

I was able to replicate this issue so I’ve forwarded your correspondence to our technical team for further investigation.

I hope this hasn’t caused too much inconvenience and thanks once again for taking the time to report this fault to us."

Basically someone eventually got round to clicking on their browser, seen there is a fault and has now emailed someone else. My expectation is that I will never get to listen to this edition of CD review. Of course, I would be happy to be proved wrong.

A reply from Steve Bowbrick: "Engineers are at work resolving the issue".

Exactly how difficult it is to download a version of the programme so that listeners can stream it I leave to your imagination.
